Maternity | A Miracle Waiting to Happen | Toronto & Durham Region Photogarpher

This beautiful mother is both a friend and a talented photographer in my city. You can find her work at Tara Graham Photography. I love having photographers as models––they really know how to work it in front of the camera!––and it was fun to get to treat Tara to being on the other side of the lens.

We captured some greats portraits in the studio. She brought a suitcase full of dresses and allowed me to dress her up, everything from an adult size tutu to lacy black to silky white. I love portraying the natural, glowing beauty of mothers-to-be. There is such a grace and elegance to their motherly figures. Tara was 33 weeks at the time of our shoot, and a beautiful 33 weeks at that.

This was a particularly special photo shoot for me, one that I was truly honored to be able to do, not only because Tara is a fellow photographer, but because of the miracle that this baby is. Tara and her husband have been on a long journey to come to this point, which makes this moment of expectation a deeply joyful one. Many tears have been sowed, but now is the time for reaping in joy. This baby has been hoped for, prayed for, and fought for, and I know the celebration of his birth will be a marvelous one. He is already loved and wanted more than he could possibly know.

Congratulations Tara! Looking forward to meeting your baby boy!
